Marguerite D’Amico is in her second year at APEX Academy this year and thrilled to be back at a school with values and methods that are holistic and address the real needs and ambitions of the community. She comes from a background of political organizing with a focus on social justice, and believes that education has the potential to be an incredible agent for social change. Her passion for history is connected to these ideals, and she feels she has a great opportunity to discuss the past and present with her students in order to develop their sense of agency and civic engagement.
She attended New York University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Middle Eastern Studies, and completed a Master’s Degree and California Teaching Credential at Loyola Marymount University. She is currently the advisor for APEX Yearbook and Girls Run, a running club emphasizing strength and confidence.
