Mary Munoz has worked at APEX Academy for the last four years. She has worked as an aide in both the classroom and office, then taught in the high school before moving to the middle school. Her time at APEX Academy has fueled her passion to share her love of history with not only her students, but their parents and the community at large. She believes that a personal connection with children can help them in all aspects of their lives.
As someone whose parents both have a limited educational background, she knows and understands the value of a good education. She completed her Bachelor’s of Arts in 2006 at Pitzer College. While at Pitzer College she participated in a study abroad program where for a year she traveled from Costa Rica, to China, and finally to Mexico. In May of 2010, she received her Master’s from St. Mary’s College, along with her preliminary credential. She hopes to complete her doctorate within the next couple of years.
