Teaching is my second career, and a rewarding one. I have worked as a middle school math teacher for the past 10 years. Previously, I worked as a one-to-one aide for a high school student and as a program tutor at Los Angeles Southwest College in the GAIN/CalWorks office. Working with the underrepresented families has been a fulfilling experience. Working with students who greatly appreciate a teacher’s honest, caring attitude has been a rewarding experience. My greatest pleasure is watching a student who all of sudden has “the lightbulb go on” and becomes so proud of and confident in themselves.

I received my Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and Child Development from Los Angeles Southwest College in Los Angeles California. After completing my AA degree I transferred to California State University Dominguez Hills, where I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a Mathematics option. Upon completing my Bachelor’s degree I took some Master’s classes on using technology in the classroom. I completed the teacher credential program and received my credential from California State University Dominguez Hills.
